Sarah Sebo (UChicago)- A Tutorial on Designing a Human-Subjects Research Study
Abstract: In this presentation, I will give an overview of the process of rigorously designing a human-subjects study, including defining hypothesis, identifying key constructs, selecting a between- or within- subjects design, using a power analysis to determine how many participants to recruit, selecting appropriate measurements, and study pre-registration.

Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Sarah Sebo is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago where she directs the UChicago Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) Lab. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Yale University in 2020 and Bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in 2014.
