Katie started her career in the Deparment of Computer Science as Assistant to the Chairman in 2008. Before rejoining Computer Science, Katie served as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the Social Sciences Division. Katie has been working in the field of academic affairs for nearly 20 years, all at the University of Chicago. While with SSD, Katie was responsible for the management of all career-track academics, including faculty, instructional professors, senior instructional professors, and research academics. She also oversaw all visiting appointments. When not at work, Katie enjoys spending time with her two young boys, Charlie and Louie.
